SCED 330/435 Blog Week 1. The semester has just started and I'm really excited about starting clinical. I've already met with my instructor and we've talked about the curriculum for the school year. We also discussed how important it is to establish trust and a rapport with your students in the first two weeks. I brought up the schools policy on disciplining students. Mrs. Harris explained that last semester she had little trouble with last years class. She had told me that she just had to use "The Look." After making eye contact with her students, the majority of them fell into place. The school does have a procedure for when "The Look" fails. They call it Bounce. Bounce is used when a student and a teacher can not come to a civil agreement. This procedure removes the student from his/her classroom and places them into a neighboring class.
